I didn't always know, what I know now!

 

 

 

 

 

Then there was Dayna, the rough collie:

 

 

I then got married moved out and grew up, we decided that we wanted dogs, so we got Turkish (English Mastiff) .  Turkish destroyed everything, including chewing on my piano, the front door, a bookcase and various valuable things,

 

 

 so to stop this because we decided he was "bored" we got Stella,

 

 who did exactly the same!!! 

 

We took Turkish to puppy classes, which did nothing outside of the class, we did everything we were told to do by them, even marching him around the town on a Sunday making sure he met 7 people and visited 7 different places a week, loads of walks to "burn all his excess energy", gadgets, gizmos, funny commands, you name it we tried it.

 

It got to the point where I couldn't walk them anymore because they were out of control, they would drag me to wherever they wanted and I'd spend most of the "walk" on my back.  They chased everything, barked at anything, had no recall at all, I could see that they were both incredibly stressed out, I just didn't know why.

 

One afternoon on the internet, desperate for help, I stumbled across a lady who was a Jan Fennell Dog Listener, within half an hour I'd booked a consultation with her and two weeks later she changed my life by giving us a one to one consultation, it blew my mind.  After implementing the four points of the method, over weeks/months, our dogs suddenly relaxed, stopping trying to be the leaders, their "bad behaviour" wasn't needed anymore and have since been happy, stress-free dogs.

 

 

 

Our Dog Listener encouraged me to become a Jan Fennell Dog Listener, so I did, and trained with Jan, obtaining certificates in her Foundation & Advanced Canine Communication courses. 

 

I stayed with her organisation for over 3 years, and enjoyed every minute of it, I've helping over 100 dogs and owners, and now I am an independent Dog Behaviour Consultant, striving to help each and every dog and owner that needs me.
